Best Homemade Lip Balm Recipe
This is by far the absolute best lip balm I have ever used.
And no, I'm not just saying that. It really is the best!
Lip Balm Ingredients:
30g coconut oil
30g grated beeswax/beeswax pastilles
20g cacao butter
10g raw honey
8-10 drops of Essential oil of your choice (I use peppermint, orange, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus, rosemary)
You'll also need:
a double boiler
a rubber spatula
plastic or cardboard chapstick containers
To make the chapstick:
1. In your double boiler, heat on medium heat the beeswax, coconut oil, cacao butter and honey. Mix constantly as heating, to ensure properly combined.
2. Once all of the above ingredients are melted and mixed, remove from the heat and add your essential oils. Be sure to mix well afterwards.
3. While still very warm, pour into your chapstick containers. I've found that using a small pipette works really well to dispense into each container so you don't spill.
4. All thats left is to wait for your chapstick to cool completely. This usually takes 12 hours depending on how large your containers are and the temperature of your home.
Congratulations! You've just made the only chapstick you'll ever want to use again!
